Curoc (IKAN PUYU)

Puyu fish (Anabas testudineus) is a species of freshwater fish most durable.
This fish is also known as koruk or karuk by local people in Sabah.
The main habitat for this species is Wet or irrigation canals, small rivers or juicy petals.
fish scales and fins of this species move hard facilitate the water above ground, because at certain times during the rainy season and will mostly migrate to climb the riverbank looking for other water-petals.
Thus most deserving of this fish species known to prefer migration.
This species can survive without water for several hours.
These species live in groups, and because it is easy to endangered species by fishing activities, such as nets, nets, fishing nets & excessive(without practicing the method of 'catch & free').
There is confidence in the local population of this species is able to prevent any interference spirits.
Therefore, preserving old species of the Malay community is in the house for that purpose.These fish are also easily found when the flood subsided in the area.
